Telaga Terminal peak timetable, 1 November 2026 – 15 April 2027 (one sailing each way from 16 April to 31 May 2027). Times are listed as published, Malaysian time from Telaga and Thai time from Koh Lipe, so this board shows no next-departure countdown · Representative sailings only — check the operator for today's full schedule
Missed the morning boat Telaga Terminal says passengers who miss the 09:30 ferry may be put on the 14:30 one if seats are available; it does not offer next-day boarding. If a flight is delayed, call +60 12-409 1737.
Weather The operator describes all departure times as indicative and subject to weather, sea and operational conditions.
Another operator from Kuah Tropical Charter (Koh Lipe Ferry Services) runs its own Koh Lipe ferry from Kuah Jetty Point, with check-in on level 1 of the Jetty Point complex and a different landing point on Koh Lipe (Bundhaya Resort). It sells its own tickets at its own times; they are not on this board.
Map – Langkawi (Telaga) – Koh Lipe
| Ticket type | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult (13+), one way, Satun Pakbara listing on CutiCuti Langkawi (park fee extra) | RM170 |
| Child (2–12), one way, Satun Pakbara listing on CutiCuti Langkawi | RM150 |
Telaga Terminal's own website prices each date in its online booking, so its fare is not shown here; its conditions of carriage allow a fuel surcharge, port, terminal and immigration charges and processing fees on top of the basic fare, disclosed before payment. The RM170 below is what Satun Pakbara, whose speedboat club at Varin Beach is the Koh Lipe check-in point, charges for the same Telaga sailing on CutiCuti Langkawi; it includes the longtail transfer at Koh Lipe but not the national park fee. Children aged 2 to 12 pay RM150 there, and infants under 2 travel without a fare. On the island, rangers collect the park fee in cash, in Thai baht or ringgit at their discretion: Thailand's Department of National Parks lists Tarutao at 200 baht per foreign adult and 100 baht per foreign child. Telaga refunds cancellations made eight days or more before departure minus an 8% charge; later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded. All fares in Malaysian ringgit (MYR) unless another currency is shown.
Koh Lipe lies 42 kilometres from Telaga Harbour on Langkawi, and the ferry sold by Telaga Terminal takes about 90 minutes. Boats leave from Telaga Harbour International Terminal at Pantai Kok, where you clear Malaysian immigration in the building before boarding, and arrive off Pattaya Beach in front of Varin Beach Resort. Koh Lipe has no pier: a longtail boat carries passengers between the ferry and the sand, and that transfer is included in the ticket. Nothing on this service leaves from Kuah jetty; Telaga reckons 30 to 35 minutes by car from Kuah and 15 to 20 minutes from Langkawi airport.
This is a seasonal route. The 2026/27 season runs from 15 October 2026 to 31 May 2027, and the operator stops sailing between June and September because of the monsoon. Between 1 November 2026 and 15 April 2027 there are two boats each way every day; from 16 April to 31 May 2027 there is one. Times from Langkawi are Malaysian time and times from Koh Lipe are Thai time, an hour behind, which is why the published arrival on Koh Lipe is only 30 minutes after departure and the return seems to take two and a half hours. Telaga treats every time as indicative and dependent on weather and sea conditions.
Online booking closes six hours before departure. The check-in counter opens two hours ahead and shuts 30 minutes before sailing, though the Satun Pakbara listing mentioned below asks for registration 90 minutes before departure; either way, show the booking voucher, printed or on screen. Walk-in tickets are sold at the Telaga counter when seats remain. Fares depend on the date in Telaga's own booking system. Satun Pakbara, whose speedboat club is the check-in point on Koh Lipe, sells the same sailing on CutiCuti Langkawi at RM170 for an adult one way.
Bring a passport or border pass valid for at least six months and any visa your nationality needs. Fill in the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before reaching Koh Lipe; foreigners returning to Langkawi need a new Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) each time. On the island a marine park fee is payable in cash; Telaga says Koh Lipe has ATMs and money changers.
- Arrive at the jetty in good time; check-in counters can close a few minutes before departure, and routes with immigration checks need extra time.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — rough seas, low tide and the monsoon seasons can change or cancel sailings.
- Carry your passport on routes to Thailand; some destinations charge a separate park or entry fee.
