Langkawi RORO sailings published for 2 November to 31 December 2026; the board shows the times for the date you open it
Other RoRo operators on the same crossing Langkawi Port lists four companies running vehicle ferries between Kuala Perlis and Langkawi: Langkawi RORO Ferry Services, Langkawi Auto Express, Wantas Shipping and Dibuk Cargo Services. Each sells its own tickets and sails at its own times; only Langkawi RORO's sailings are on this board. Langkawi Port's RORO page carries a combined table of the four companies' sailings.
Booking a vehicle Langkawi RORO asks for the vehicle grant, the driver's identity card, passenger names and identity numbers and the driver's phone number at least 3 days before departure, plus an authorisation letter if the driver is not the owner. Checks with the authorities can take up to 3 working days, and a deposit is requested. Vehicles must be in the holding area 2 hours before sailing for customs inspection, or the approval is cancelled.
Times can change Both Langkawi RORO and Langkawi Port state that RoRo sailing times are subject to change.

No fare is shown here. Langkawi RORO's fare table (updated April 2026) prices each vehicle class and passenger category separately and adds a port charge and, since 20 April 2026, a fuel surcharge. The amount its ticketing system asks for a given date has differed from a sum of that table, so take the final price from the booking page or call 04-966 9881 (Langkawi) or 04-985 4881 (Kuala Perlis). Tickets are not refundable; changes must be made at least 48 hours before departure.
Cars, motorcycles, buses and lorries cross between Kuala Perlis and Langkawi on roll-on roll-off ferries. Langkawi Port Sdn Bhd, which has operated the Dermaga Tanjung Lembung port complex since 15 November 1997, lists four companies on the route. This page follows one of them, Langkawi Ro-Ro Ferry Services, whose main office is in the Tanjung Lembung complex and whose Kuala Perlis office sits beside the Al-Hussin mosque at Laman Brasmana.
There is no fixed daily timetable. Langkawi RORO publishes a schedule month by month, and on most days it sails once in each direction: on those dates the boat leaves Langkawi between 09:00 and 14:00 and Kuala Perlis between 12:00 and 17:00. The time shifts by up to a few hours from one date to the next, and a handful of dates have a second sailing. The board above loads the time for each date from 2 November to 31 December 2026. The port gives the crossing as roughly one and a half to two hours; check the arrival time for your sailing when you book.
Vehicles cannot simply turn up. Langkawi RORO wants copies of the vehicle grant and the driver's identity card, the names and identity numbers of passengers and a contact number for the driver, at least 3 days before departure, with a letter from the owner if someone else is driving. Its checks with the authorities can take up to 3 working days, and it asks for a deposit. On the day, the vehicle must be in the holding area 2 hours before departure for customs inspection; if it is late, the approval is cancelled.
Fares depend on the vehicle class and engine size, with a separate port charge and a fuel surcharge introduced on 20 April 2026. Because the total in the ticketing system for a given date has not always matched the published table, this page does not quote a price. Tickets cannot be refunded, and any change has to be made 48 hours before sailing.
Langkawi Auto Express, Wantas Shipping and Dibuk Cargo Services run their own RoRo sailings on the same crossing at other times. Langkawi RORO's offices answer on 04-966 9881 in Langkawi and 04-985 4881 in Kuala Perlis.
- Arrive at the jetty in good time; check-in counters can close a few minutes before departure, and routes with immigration checks need extra time.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — rough seas, low tide and the monsoon seasons can change or cancel sailings.
- Carry your passport on routes to Thailand; some destinations charge a separate park or entry fee.
